by Mike Rogers

The personal information we collect on our website is limited to the information you provide us when you traverse the site, sign up for our mailing list, contact us (e.g., send us an email or call us at a number listed on the site), or comment on a blog post. This information will not be given to or shared with anyone outside of the Mike Rogers AD 70 Blog Team or our service providers unless you expressly allow it, or we believe it is necessary to comply with the law, protect a person’s safety, or address fraud or security issues.

Who we are

Our website address is:  https://www.mikerogersad70.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Your comment information is provided to Akismet services for anti-spam processing.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here.  After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact form(s)

When you submit a question we collect your first name and last name (only when provided) and your email address so we can correspond with you.  We reserve the right to take a question you pose and add it to our Question and Answer (Q&A) pages/section.  The Q&As we add to the site are theological in nature.

When you subscribe to our blog we collect your name (only when provided) and your email address so we can correspond with you. Your personal data will not only be stored in the website’s database but also in Mailchimp.

Mailchimp

We use Mailchimp for our blog email campaigns.

MailChimp is the world’s largest marketing automation platform and is General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant. In Mailchimp we only store your email address and when provided your name.

If you decide to unsubscribe from the blog, you can let us know using our contact us form or click on unsubscribe at the bottom of one of the blog emails you received from us.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article/blog, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article/blog you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

You can control use of cookies on most web browsers.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles/blogs on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Usage Tracking

We track the way you use our website and blog email campaigns to secure the website and provide you with a better browsing experience. Our website security services automatically record user information such as Internet Protocol (IP) address, device and browser type, operating system, pages browsed, hyperlinks clicked on or used, and other use-related statistics. Similarly Mailchimp creates blog specific reports on how users interfaced with a campaign blog email.  Types of data reported by individual and aggregated totals include such things as campaign email opens, links clicked, social performance, and location opens.  We use this information to provide and secure the features of our website, and to analyze this information in-house to improve and enhance our users’ experience.

Analytics

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or share your personal data (i.e., name, email address) with third parties except as listed in this policy for security/spam detection services (Akismet) and blog subscriptions services (Mailchimp).

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an userid on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
