The new logo continues to emphasize the transition from the Mosaic to the messianic age. The circle represents the generation in which the change occurred. It began with the coming of Christ, his ministry, death, and resurrection. The cross within the circle symbolizes these (and other) works of salvation at the start of the transition generation. The destruction of the temple in AD 70 marked the end of the Mosaic age, with its rituals and sacrifices.
During the interval between the cross and AD 70, the apostles of Christ built up the church, gave her the New Testament Scriptures, and prepared her for life in the new messianic age. The Scriptures describe these events as the dawning of the day of salvation for the world. The Apostle Paul described the situation in his generation well: “The night is far spent, the day is at hand” (Rom 13:12). The rising sun in the logo represents this long-awaited development.
The purple represents the royal majesty of Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords (1 Tim 6:15).
